In experiments with rice Taichung 65 in Okinawa, the vegetative and ripening phases were about 35 days longer and 15 days shorter, resp., in the 1st cropping season than in the 2nd. Total, stalk and panicle DM weights increased more rapidly in the 1st season. CGR was max. just before heading in both seasons, but was higher in the 1st.
