Characteristics of the seed proteins of selected swede rape varieties. I. Characteristics of albumin in three genetically different swede rape varieties

Using various methods, content of water, oil, erucic acid, crude protein and amino acid (the last in deoiled seeds and in the albumin) of seeds of varieties Gorczanski, Quinta and Start was determined. Results are tabulated. Albumin content of Start (a double zero type) was about 4% higher than in the others. Erucic acid content of Quinta and Start was very low (1.0 and 0.5%, respectively) compared to that of Gorczanski (55.3%).
