Chromosomal location of genes controlling gliadin biosynthesis in the bread wheat variety Chinese Spring

By means of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, the genes for gliadin synthesis in a series of nullitetrasomic lines, 41 ditelosomic lines and the initial euploid line of Chinese Spring were studied. Genes coding for 33 individual gliadin components were located on the short arm of homoeologous chromosome groups 1 and 6.
