Comax (cotton management expert) is a rule-based computer system integrated with a computer program (Gossym) which simulates cotton plant growth and soil processes. Comax determines the best strategy for irrigation, fertilizers, defoliants and boll openers. Sensors in the cotton fields automatically report weather conditions to the system and Comax reevaluates its recommendations daily.
