Using a DNase II + Mg2+ fractionation procedure with the inbreds FRMO17 and FRN28 and their hybrid, it was found that, compared with the inbreds, the hybrid had a putative euchromatin fraction (EF) which contained (1) relatively more protein and RNA than DNA and (2) relatively larger proportions of protein and RNA.
