Cotton growth and yield as affected by irrigation and nitrogen fertilizer

Cotton Giza 75 grown in 1983 and 1984 and treated with 30, 60 or 90 kg N as ammonium nitrate/feddan was irrigated at 15-day intervals or irrigation was skipped at squaring, flowering or boll formation. Plant height, total number of branches and fruiting branches, total and open bolls were reduced more when irrigation was skipped at flowering than at either of the other stages, or with normal irrigation.
