Cyromazine inhibits larval development of the dog flea, Ctenocephalides canis (Siphonaptera: Pulicidae)

Cyromazine, an insect growth regulator that has been used against dipterous larvae, was found to be an extremely effective inhibitor of larval and pupal development in Ctenocephalides canis. When mixed into a larval rearing medium, the IC50 and IC95 for inhibition of adult emergence were 2.11 and 4.39 p.p.m., respectively.
