Diallel analysis of quantitative characters of flue-cured tobacco varieties (Nicotiana tabacum L.). 2. Heterosis of the F1 and F2 generations and the characters of haploids derived from F1 hybrids and their parents

Heterosis was low but significant (-6.0 to 5.4%) for yield, height, number of days to flowering, leaf length, leaf width and total alkaloid content in 15 F1 hybrids of 6 varieties and for height, days to flowering and number of leaves/plant (-3.4 to 3.6%) in the F2 populations.
