Differences in fat content between samples of milk taken for milk recording and dairy samples: possible reasons

Differences in fat content between samples of milk taken for milk recording and dairy samples: possible reasons

Milchpraxis 22(4): 164-165

It is suggested that some reasons for differences between the fat content of milk samples taken for milk recording and the fat content of dairy samples are (i) daily fluctuations in fat content, (ii) special preparation of cows in the way of feeding etc. before samples are taken for milk recording, (iii) differences in sampling method, (iv) differences in storage before testing, and (v) instrumental deviations.
