Differences in grain quality among selected corn hybrids

Nine maize hybrids were grown for 2 or 3 years and assessed for test weight, 1000-kernel weight, breakage susceptibility, kernel drying rate, dry milling quality and resistance to storage moulds (Penicillium and Aspergillus spp.). The tests gave statistically significant differences among hybrids and years for each trait. B73 X Mo17, a popular hybrid, was used as a standard against which other hybrids were compared for a given year.
