Differences in patterns of pup care in Mus Musculus. III. Genetic analysis

Differences in patterns of pup care in Mus Musculus. III. Genetic analysis

Journal of Comparative Psychology 98(2): 154-164

In an experiment which involved cross-fostering, the differences between NZB and CBA/H their F1s and segregating populations were analysed in relation to several maternal behaviour traits. Strain of offspring, maternal effects and genotype x environment interaction did not contribute to strain differences in maternal behaviour. The strain differences for one maternal trait (1st-retrieval latency) was explained in terms of 2 segregating loci.
