Differences in rates of leaf appearance among maize hybrids and phases of development

Differences in rates of leaf appearance among maize hybrids and phases of development

Canadian Journal of Plant Science 64(3): 759-763

Rates of leaf appearance were evaluated for 3 maize hybrids grown at 2 day/night temp. (20/17 degrees and 30/27 degrees C) in controlled environment and field conditions. Differences in mean rate of leaf appearance between 2 hybrids common to both experiments were approx. 15% in both the field and the controlled environment experiments.
