Differences in susceptibility of grass grub in Taranaki to organophosphate insecticides

Differences in susceptibility of grass grub in Taranaki to organophosphate insecticides

Proceedings, New Zealand Weed and Pest Control Conference (38): 27-30

Populations of the scarabaeid Costelytra zealandica from pastures in 3 farms in New Zealand with a history of extensive use of fensulfothion were found to be significantly less responsive to this insecticide in laboratory topical treatments than a population that had not been exposed to fensulfothion. The differences may suggest that a proportion of these populations was resistant to fensulfothion.
