Differences in the group composition of extractive substances from the needles and shoots of the Scotch pine

Differences in the group composition of extractive substances from the needles and shoots of the Scotch pine

Khimiya Drevesiny (5): 74-78

The amount of petroleum ether-soluble substances in the isopropanol extracts of needles and shoots was 53.0 and 36.2% respectively. The petroleum ether fraction of needles contained: free acids 52% (fatty acids 5.7% and rosin acids 10.8%); bound acids 12.5%; and unsaponifiables 30.7%. The petroleum ether fraction of shoots contained: free acids 53% (6.5 and 22.5%); bound acids 29.0%; and unsaponifiables 15.9%.
