Klinicheskaya Meditsina 63(1): 116-120

For 3 months 51 patients with type IIa (15), type IIb (26) or type IV (10) hyperlipaemia using the classification of Fredrickson et al. (New England Journal of Medicine (1967) 276, 34) were given diets low in animal fats and with increased amounts of different vegetables. In types IIa and IIb meat was restricted to 100 to 125 g daily and replaced by fish and skimmed acidified milk products. In type IIb sugars and confectionery were also restricted.
