Black-and-White Lowland calves, weaned at 50 days old, in 4 groups of 10, were fed for 6 months on hay and concentrates of ground barley 60, ground oats 16, grass meal 8, soyabean and linseed oilmeals 7 and 5, yeast 2, minerals and premix 2%. For 3 groups growth promoters were added: salinomycin 25 mg, peat moss extract 200 mg and Rumensin (monensin sodium) 20 mg/kg feed. Daily gain was with no supplement 743, with salinomycin, peat moss extract and Rumensin 820, 758 and 797 g.
