Different subpopulations of haemocytes in juvenile, adult and Trichobilharzia ocellata infected Lymnaea stagnalis: a characterization using monoclonal antibodies

Different subpopulations of haemocytes in juvenile, adult and Trichobilharzia ocellata infected Lymnaea stagnalis: a characterization using monoclonal antibodies

Zeitschrift für Parasitenkunde 71(6): 815-819

Monoclonal antibodies were raised against haemocytes of juvenile, adult and Trichobilharzia ocellata-infected Lymnaea stagnalis. 4 antibodies reacted against membrane antigens, 2 against the cytoplasm or dispersed cytoplasmic determinants and 3 with various types of cytoplasmic granules. The 4 membrane-reactive antibodies were used to distinguish several subpopulations of haemocytes, the proportions of which varied with snail age and infection status.
