Differential control of exo-polymethylgalacturonase and pectic acid lyase production by Helminthosporium sacchari

H. sacchari produced pectolytic enzymes constitutively in Richard's solution containing glucose as the exclusive C source. An exo-polymethylgalacturonase was formed at 0.01% glucose but not at 0.5% or 0.1%.
