Differential expression of pleiotropic genes for pigmentation in cowpea

Differential expression of pleiotropic genes for pigmentation in cowpea

Mysore Journal of Agricultural Sciences 17(4): 337-341

The differential expression of the gene for axil (Px) was detected in the inheritance studies of six pigmented characters in cowpea. The ratio like 39 purple: 25 white for axil and flower; 117 purple; 139 green for calyx; 45 coloured: 19 non-coloured for pedicel, immature pod and seed (black:white) were reported for the first time. The gene symbol for pedical was designated as Pd.
