Differential genotypic sensitivity of soybeans to P-Zn-Cu imbalances

During a preliminary screening of 45 F5-derived Glycine max breeding lines and 4 standard cultivars (all 49 genotypes from maturity groups VII or VIII), overliming of an ultisol soil to neutrality resulted in different genotypes showing zinc deficiency symptoms to different degrees. Some genotypes appeared normal and gave expected yields while others showed severe symptoms and gave very low yields; others were intermediate between these extremes.
