Differential population characteristics of western spruce budworm

Differential population characteristics of western spruce budworm

General Technical Report, Northeastern Station, USDA Forest Service (NE-90): 7-12

The underlying assumption of the insecticide registration process, that population responses are equal or vary only within narrow limits, is discussed in relation to carbaryl and other insecticides. Choristoneura occidentalis populations differ significantly in their responses to carbaryl, which is registered for control of this species.
