Differential suppression of FSH and LH secretion by follicular fluid in the presence or absence of GnRH

Differential suppression of FSH and LH secretion by follicular fluid in the presence or absence of GnRH

Neuroendocrinology 38(3): 199-205

In the 1st of 3 experiments, rats ovariectomised 2 wk previously were injected intravenously with 4, 16 or 64 mg protein from porcine follicular fluid (pFF); they showed a dose-dependent suppression of serum FSH with time, with a max. suppression 10 h after injection to 40% of the value in intact controls. The LH concentration was slightly, but significantly, elevated by 4 and 16 mg, but not by 64 mg pFF.
