Differential susceptibility to experimental autoimmune orchitis in BALB/c substrains

Differential susceptibility to experimental autoimmune orchitis in BALB/c substrains

Current Topics in Microbiology and Immunology 122: 181-188

Mice of substrains BALB/c Ka, BALB/cByJ, BALB/cWt and BALB/cCMCCr were highly susceptible to the induction of autoimmune orchitis by injection of mouse testis or liver homogenate in Freund's adjuvant followed by Bordetella pertussis extract; BALB/cJ and BALB/c Ski (Boy) mice were resistant, and 8 other substrains of mice were of intermediate susceptibility.
