Differentiation of Indian mustard forms according to fatty acid content of the seed oil

Differentiation of Indian mustard forms according to fatty acid content of the seed oil

Nauchno tekhnicheskii Byulleten' Vsesoyuznogo Ordena Lenina i Ordena Druzhby Narodov Nauchno issledovatel' skogo Instituta Rastenievodstva Imeni N I Vavilovarecd 1985; (136): 27-32

Using gas liquid chromatography, the seeds of 125 Brassica juncea forms grown at Ustimovka were analysed for the fatty acid contents of their oil. Forms from India showed the highest erucic acid content and also the greatest variation in its content among genotypes (19.0-52.5%). Soviet forms were among the lowest in erucic acid content (20.7-29.8% in local forms from Volgograd province).
