Differentiation of physiological races of the pathogen causing downy mildew of hops

Differentiation of physiological races of the pathogen causing downy mildew of hops

Ukrains' kii Botanichnii Zhurnal 41(2): 45-48, 103

A study of differences in virulence between isolates of Pseudoperonospora humuli collected from 9 forms in the Poles'e (Pripyat' Marshes) area of the Ukraine during 1980-81 using a set of 7 differential varieties revealed 22 races, of which the most widespread were among the least virulent (races 1 and 7). Races 2, 8-11, 17-18 and 20-22 were virulent on the variety Faggls, recommended as a donor of resistance in the Ukraine.
