Differentiation of sweet cherry flower buds in the Crimean foothills

Dates in 1980 and 1981 when the main developmental stages began in the flower buds of 9 Prunus avium varieties of different maturity groups are tabulated. Differentiation began in mid to late July, with the early Skorospelka and midseason Krasavitsa Kieva being the earliest, and lasted 22-52 days depending on the variety. In 1980 in Skorospelka it lasted for 22 days and in Vinka 28 days (the next shortest).
