Differing susceptibility to metribuzin in 80 varieties and lines of soyabean (Glycine max Merr.)

The varieties and lines were grown in the greenhouse in pots using a nutrient solution with the addition of one of seven doses of metribuzin. Varietal susceptibility was assessed on the basis of the dose which resulted in plant damage of 3 or 5 on a 0 (undamaged) to 10 (dead) scale and on the resulting decrease in plant fresh weight compared with untreated plants.
