Digestibility and fattening results of treated wheat straw

Digestibility and fattening results of treated wheat straw

Agricultural waste utilization and management Proceedings of the 5th International Symposium on Agricultural Wastes, 16-17 December 1985, Chicago, Illinois, USA: 371-378

A summarizing assessment is presented of results obtained from digestibility experiments using straw treated in 8 different ways, and used in feed rations for fattening bulls and rams. The categories of straw were: chopped straw; short chopped straw; chopped straw treated with NaOH; chopped straw treated with NH3; wet chopped straw preserved with urea; pelleted straw; pelleted straw with NaOH.
