Digestibility in Criollo cattle. I. Preliminary study of low and medium quality forages

Digestibility in Criollo cattle. I. Preliminary study of low and medium quality forages

IDIA (401/404): 48-50

4 Criollo and 4 Aberdeen Angus 18-month-old bulls were given Agrostis curvula Morpa (a) as hay cut at the end of summer, (b) left standing until winter or (c) rye at an advanced stage of vegetative growth. Mean percentage digestibility for (a), (b) and (c) for Aberdeen Angus was 61.4, 45.0 and 52.92% and for Criollo cattle 57.74, 49.23 and 55.75%, resp.
