Digestion in the rumen and milk quality of cows given phosphogypsum

Experiments on dairy cattle showed that phosphogypsum added to the diet to provide a dietary nitrogen:sulphur ratio of 8.5:1.0 increased the rate of acetic acid fermentation in the rumen, increased digestibility of dietary nutrients and improved milk quality by increasing milk fat and casein content.
