Digestive mycotic contamination in subjects with duodenal ulcer after treatment with H2-antagonists

Digestive mycotic contamination in subjects with duodenal ulcer after treatment with H2-antagonists

Recenti Progressi in Medicina 75(1): 19-27

The anti-Candida antibodies serum levels and the frequency of duodenal mycosis evaluated endoscopically were studied in (1) 17 normal subjects; (2) 22 patients without therapy; (3) 33 endoscopically cured patients after a short-medium term treatment with H2-receptor antagonists; and (4) 22 patients after a medium-long term therapy with H2-receptor antagonists. A significant difference was found in mycotic units producing colonies/ml and in anti-C. serum levels between groups (4) and (1).
