Dilated congestive cardiomyopathy in Doberman pinschers

Dilated congestive cardiomyopathy in Doberman pinschers

Compendium on Continuing Education for the Practicing Veterinarian 8(6): 417...430

This is a relatively common disorder in Doberman pinschers. Several clinical aspects of cardiomyopathy in Dobermans distinguish the disorder from that seen in other breeds. Affected dogs develop occult ventricular tachyarrhythmia, which can progress to symptomatic ventricular tachycardia producing episodic weakness or sudden death.
