Diminishing the damage caused by rhizomania by tolerant varieties

In Hungary the gradual spread of beet necrotic vein virus must be expected, leading to considerable yield losses in affected areas. In addition to the usual protection techniques, growing tolerant cultivars may be a major means of reducing yield losses and of making beet production feasible in these areas.
