Diploid spermatids: a manifestation of spermatogenic impairment in XOSxr and T31H/+ male mice

Diploid spermatids: a manifestation of spermatogenic impairment in XOSxr and T31H/+ male mice

Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics 42(3): 159-163

Microdensitometry of Feulgen-stained spermatogenic cell preparations from 6 XOSxr and 4 T31H/+ mice revealed large numbers of spermatids with a diploid amount of DNA. In XOSxr mice, where the diploid spermatids usually constituted the majority of the spermatid population, there were large differences between mice in the proportion of diploid spermatids (35%-94%).
