Diploid-tetraploid comparisons in rye. II. Forage quality

Diploid-tetraploid comparisons in rye. II. Forage quality

Crop Science 26(1): 185-188

The effect of tetraploidy on the herbage quality of rye grown in the lower latitudes was examined. 6 populations consisting of 3 diploid Florida Black, Gator, Explorer and their autotetraploid derivatives were grown in 2 late autumn/winter/early spring seasons (1979-80, 1980-81) at Gainesville and Quincy, Florida. In vitro OM digestibility (IVOMD) and CP were measured in a total of 16 cuts.
