Direct measurement of the seasonal pattern of production on continuously-stocked swards

Direct measurement of the seasonal pattern of production on continuously-stocked swards

Grazing : 204-205

In 1984, the amounts and seasonal pattern of utilized output on continuously-stocked irrigated swards of Lolium perenne Melle were measured by recording quantities of herbage eaten by sheep grazing swards maintained at 3.5 and 7 cm height, and compared with amounts of herbage harvested from the same sward cut to 5 cm with a harvester at 4-week intervals.
