Effect of age at slaughter on turkey performance and carcass yield

, : Effect of age at slaughter on turkey performance and carcass yield. Bulletin d' Information, Station Experimentale d' Aviculture de Ploufragan, France 26(1): 26-28, 31

2520 turkeys, representing 7 crosses between the Bettina, BUT, Hybrid Canada and Sun Valley strains, were fattened to 85 and 92 days of age ( or 105 and 112 days (. Body weight at 57, 85 and 92 days averaged 2786, 4974 and 5586 g resp. in and 3380, 6340 and 7253 g in and at 105 and 112 days in it averaged 8954 and 9490 g. Food consumed per kg gain at 92 days (and averaged 2.14 kg, and for at 92 and at 112 days it averaged 2.29 kg.
