, : Effect of alkali-treated rice straw-manure silage on milk yield, milk composition of Holstein cows. Efficient animal production for Asian welfare Proceedings of the 3rd AAAP Animal Science Congress, May 6-10, 1985 Volume 2: 832-835

Rice straw was chopped to 3-5 cm, treated with NaOH at 4%, standardized to 50% DM, and ensiled with manure and defatted rice bran in the ratio 5:2:3. The resulting silage contained 32.3% DM with crude protein 12.2% and fibre 24.32%.
