Rice straw was chopped to 3-5 cm, treated with NaOH at 4%, standardized to 50% DM, and ensiled with manure and defatted rice bran in the ratio 5:2:3. The resulting silage contained 32.3% DM with crude protein 12.2% and fibre 24.32%.
