In field trials, O. sanctum was supplied with 0, 50 or 100 kg N/ha, 0, 25 or 50 kg P/ha and 0, 30 or 60 kg K/ha in all combinations. Fertilizing with N alone or with P or K increased plant growth and the yield of essential oil per plant.
