The experiment involved 170 Holstein-Friesian (HF) calves from a line selected on an index incorporating milk fat and milk protein, HF calves from a non-selected line, and Normandy calves from a line selected on the milk fat and milk protein index. All calves were implanted with Forplix (36 mg zeranol + 140 mg trenbolone acetate) at a body weight of 100-110 kg.
