In 15-year trials with the Golden Delicious on M.9 rootstocks, grown without irrigation in a low-rainfall (550 mm) area, 5-6 herbicide treatments were applied. They were: simazine at 7 or 10 kg/ha, Caragard (terbuthylazine + terbumeton) at 10 or 15 kg/ha, or Gardoprim (terbuthylazine) at 8 kg/ha replaced during the last 6 years by Ustinex special (diuron + aminotriazole + MCPA) at 15 kg/ha.
