Maize were sown at various dates in 1980 and 1981. Grain yield, ear length and plant height were significantly affected by and sowing date; highest mean values of 2.497 t/ha, 94 cm and 152 cm, resp., were produced by sowing on 1 July. Cultivar Abu-Ghraib 101 produced highest grain yields, while Neelum produced the longest ears and tallest plants.
