Effect of the difference between precipitation and potential evapotranspiration on the productivity of beans

Effect of the difference between precipitation and potential evapotranspiration on the productivity of beans

Revista do Centro de Ciencias Rurais 13(2/3): 151-161

Seed yields of Phaseolus vulgaris Rico 23 in 1961-3 at Vicosa were analysed in relation to the difference between precipitation (P) and potential evapotranspiration (PE) at different growth periods. Final seed yield was correlated linearly with totals of (P-PE); the best period for yield estimates was 50-60 days after sowing.
