In field trials on soils varying in B content at 2 sites in Sangli and Kolhapur districts during the kharif seasons of 1974-5, groundnuts Kopargaon-1, SBX1 and Spanish Improved were treated with a 0.1 p.p.m. B solution at 500 l/ha 35 and 50 days after sowing. B increased pod yields by 1.3-24.1% (av. 13.7%) compared with untreated stands, the increase depending on initial soil B content.
