Effects of selection for milk yield on plasma concentrations of growth hormone, prolactin, insulin, and thyroxine in Holstein cows at two stages of lactation

Effects of selection for milk yield on plasma concentrations of growth hormone, prolactin, insulin, and thyroxine in Holstein cows at two stages of lactation

Journal of Dairy Science 69(Suppl. 1): 170

Significant differences between cows bred for milk yield and controls were apparent only for insulin and growth hormone in blood sampled at peak lactation (42 +or- 4 days post partum), and only for insulin at mid-lactation (161 +or- 4 days).
