The varieties Gorczanski, Wipol and Janpol, representing respectively groups with high, low and zero contents of erucic acid in the oil, were compared in 3 years of field trials in 3 different parts of Poland. Overall, Gorczanski was the hardiest and produced the highest seed and oil yields. Neither sowing date nor the N dose before sowing affected hardiness significantly, but at all sites late sowing reduced both seed and oil yields.
