Energy evaluation method of grain drier (3). Exergy analysis of drying process

Energy evaluation method of grain drier (3). Exergy analysis of drying process

Journal of the Society of Agricultural Machinery, Japan 45(1): 85-93

A method of exergy analysis of grain driers was described and illustrated in terms of practical examples. Energy and exergy flows were described and conversion efficiency of fuel energy and exergy to moisture concentration energy were calculated (2-4% and 0.5-1%, resp.). Exergy loss was principally accounted for by combustion, irreversible heat transfer to grain and extraction and evaporation of grain moisture in the drying chamber.
