Establishment of an orchard of Xanthoceras sorbifolium plus trees for scion collection and experiments on its technical management

Establishment of an orchard of Xanthoceras sorbifolium plus trees for scion collection and experiments on its technical management

Forest Science and Technology Linye Keji Tongxun (1): 10-13

Scions were cut from 1-yr-old shoots of plus trees and grafted onto 17-yr-old stocks. Results showed that the number of buds left at the bases of the scions when pruned affected scion yield and the growth of new twigs; leaving 4 buds was the most appropriate treatment.
