Experimental identification of Physaloptera praeputiale and Pterygodermatites cahirensis larvae (Nematoda, Spirurata) from paratenic hosts

Experimental identification of Physaloptera praeputiale and Pterygodermatites cahirensis larvae (Nematoda, Spirurata) from paratenic hosts

Vestnik Zoologii (6): 25-29

Cats were experimentally infected with Physaloptera larvae from Varanus griseus and Hemiechinus auratus from Turkmenia, USSR, or with "Agamospirura punctata" larvae (from reptiles or hedgehog). P. praeputiale (= Physaloptera sp. Annaev, 1971 and ? Physaloptera sp. 2 Mushkambarova, 1973) and Pterygodermatites cahirensis (= Agamospirura sp. 3 Chabaud, 1954, A. punctata Sharpilo, 1971, ? Agamospirura sp. 1 Gafurov, 1978 and Agamospirura sp. Annaev, 1978) were identified.
