Experimental infection of the mollusc Lymnaea truncatula by paramphistomid miracidia

Experimental infection of the mollusc Lymnaea truncatula by paramphistomid miracidia

Byulleten' Vsesoyuznogo Instituta Gel' mintologii im KI Skryabina (37): 55-56

L. truncatula, collected in the Moscow region and in Moldavia, USSR, when exposed in the laboratory to Paramphistomum daubneyi miracidia (the parasitic material came from slaughter cattle from 3 areas of the USSR) were "attacked" by 20-50 miracidia in the first day but when examined 10-90 days later, no development had taken place. Furthermore, no development occurred in L. peregra, L. palustris, L.auricularia, L. stagnalis or Bithynia leachi.
